It can happen that a user have access issues to GCX Sharepoint or to a community or even to Teams. Let's determine where the issue is.


GCX Sharepoint


1. Issues with accessing the homepage of GCX or GCX as a whole 

Error : May tell users they are not part of the GCX tenant

a) User is not registered (When that happens community owners cannot add a user manually to they community as they cannot be found by email)

b) Account deactivated. Account must be deleted so it can be re synced automatically by department IT. Submit a ticket to have agents look into the deletion.


Community Access


1. Issue with joining a community 

Error : No seeing the option to request to join community on teams oce your request it on sharepoint

  • Make sure the user is part of the community first. Can be added manually by owner.
  • Avoid requesting or accepting access to files within a community

a) Open the Microsoft Teams desktop app before attempting to join a community. Then sign in using your government credentials. Then open Teams from your desktop when prompted as you join a community.


Teams Access

  • Usually stems from community access.
  • Make sure to first be part of a community

Error: Not seeing the GCX toggle on Teams

a)Quit the desktop app by right-click and selecting Quit from the taskbar icon as shown here. Navigate to community homepage on gxc and click on Access Ms Teams. Load the web version and not the desktop app. Toggle under your avatar.
