Web Parts and Features in GCXchange:
Quick Links and Document Libraries:
- Quick Links: Use this to add links to frequently accessed pages or documents. Can add small images. It's a commonly used web part for straightforward navigation.
- Hero Webpart: create a visually appealing, engaging area that showcases key items such as news, documents, or links. The Hero web part provides a large, attention-grabbing space that can feature images, text, and links. You can configure it to display content in a grid, tiles, or other layout styles.
- Document Library: This is where you add and manage document libraries. You can include public or member-specific libraries.
File and Media Upload:
- File and Media Web Part: Allows you to upload files and media directly, rather than uploading entire document libraries. Note that images should be uploaded using the Image web part rather than File and Media.
Events Management:
- Events Web Part: Use this to create events within GCXchange. It does not integrate with Outlook’s calendar, so you need to create the event in Outlook and add the link to GCXchange’s events calendar. For Teams meetings, use the “Meet” button in Teams to generate a link.
Analytics and Licensing:
- Analytics: You can check site activity and analytics within GCXchange.
Web Parts to Use:
- Button vs. Call to Action: Both serve similar functions, but the Button web part is preferred for its simplicity.
- Embedding Content: Use the YouTube web part to embed YouTube videos. Be aware that embedding other types of media like Stream may not work due to licensing or technical issues.
- News Web Part: Displays news articles and updates in a dedicated section. It integrates well with the news functionality on the page.
To Note : Power BI and Microsoft Forms are not available due to licensing limitations. Be cautious with tools that may not be licensed or functional in your environment.
